Hi, I am Mark For the past 24 years, I have been
a technical instructor in the computer industry. I have collected
many tricks and secrets to help my students with the problems
that they encounter while taking classes. This technique is one of those tricks.
I did not invent this or even discover it.
In fact the first reference to it dates back to Aristotle and Euclid.
Someone showed me when I was young and I am willing to show others, as
I have shown many hundreds of my students over the years. In all those
years, I haven't had one person who was unable to use finger squinting.
Although, I have been told that some severe medical conditions
could prevent it from working. I haven't seen one yet.
Remember, I am an instructor, not an eye-care specialist. I am just a
person willing to show people how to temporarily augment the auto-focus
of the eye to achieve a better visual acuity. However, doing it using
only a free hand and fingers. I am standing behind it because it works.
I have done the research into how and why it works, and for those
pundits who will claim it is just a pin-hole camera, I invite them to
make a pin-hole between their fingers and see what little they get.
I have concentrated on squints made with your fingers. However,many types of squints exist, some natural and someyou have to construct. Unfortunately, none I have come across has the versatility, availability or power to improve vision like the finger squint.
